Chris MacLean, Wakefield, Quebec

"Chris MacLean is a singer you trust. Maybe it’s her lyrics – she’s especially good at marrying interior and exterior landscapes – or maybe it’s her voice, an inviting blend of warmth and clarity…. Whatever her secret, the Gatineau hills-based singer/songwriter is a balanced voice in an off-kilter world.” - Patrick Langston, Ottawa Citizen

For an idea of what inspires this consummate explorer, take a walk down a dirt road. Listen to the creek spilling a long winter’s melt. Paddle ahead of an oncoming storm in a small canoe. Chris adeptly stretches herself across a wide musical spectrum from traditional and contemporary folk to jazz and world music.
Following the award-winning success of her CD 'Feet Be Still', Chris set sail on a transformative emotional journey that would ultimately reinvent her life.
The 14 songs on her new CD  'Procrastinator' - supported by The Canada Council for the Arts - speak to these years, reflecting on life's curve balls, her seven-month sojourn in South Africa, and her mother's final months.

Chris also works as a Voice Movement Therapy practitioner, a voice teacher, a choir leader, and a graphic artist.

Bob Stark, Vancouver, BC

"Bob Stark may be one of Canada's best kept singer-songwriter secrets. In the tradition of Jesse Winchester or Leonard Cohen, his songs of love and life paint a gentle picture of adult life in today's world."  Doug Cox, Artistic Director, Vancouver Island Music Festival
Bob has recently released his seventh CD - 'Storefront Photograph'.
Storefront Photograph...... is to be savoured on a winter’s evening, in front of a slow-burning fireplace with a glass of good wine, or perhaps a scotch-and-soda, in hand. And if there is a memory of a lost love, all the better. This is Bob Stark in his mature adulthood, contemplating life from the perspective of age and experience, at ease with himself and the place in which he finds himself. Sjef Frenken, Grubstreet, Ottawa
Previous releases include: Modern Day Romeo (2012); Life On A Postcard (2006);Love Songs for Bureaucrats (2000) One Candle Burning (1994; Levels of Survival (1991); and Beyond the Stars (1988).

"You are the most unique performer I have ever seen" - Patron, The Roxy, Ottawa, ON.
"Whenever I feel down and sad, I come to hear you play and you always make me feel better" - Patron, The Nozzle, Ottawa, ON
"Oh no don't do that.....please please play another sad song" - Patron, South Hill Candy Shop, Vancouver
"Stark is an excellent songwriter and he's a warm relaxed personality with some of the best between song patter I've ever heard" - Dave Mulholland, The Ottawa Citizen

"Consistently good song writing." - Northern Journey: A Guide to Canadian Folk Music.
