Treble in Paradise Concerts presents A FIDDLE EXTRAVAGANZA with MAIRI RANKIN, TRENT FREEMAN & ERIC WRIGHT on Wednesday November 23, at the Tipper Review Room, 2066 Kingsway (at Victoria Drive)

From the legendary Rankin Family of Mabou NS, Mairi  fiddles, sings and step-dances up a storm. She  tours and records with the Cape Breton super group Beolach and with the internationally acclaimed folk group The Outside Track, and often works as a sideman with other artists.

Trent Freeman is an innovative musician with a unique sense of groove, harmony, and composition. He has won awards as a music video producer, with his groups The Fretless and Speaker Face, and with his solo record Rock Paper Scissors. Trent also plays with John Reischman's The Pine Siskins and always has a new project on the go.  Come out and see what he's up to with this project..

Eric Wright chose to cross boundaries usually faced by cellists.  He found a unique way to fit into Irish and American Old Time music  by  taking “the chop”, an innovative rhythmic technique, to new levels.  In so doing Eric has become a highly sought-after accompanist for all types of folk styles. His recording sessions have included work with Ruth Moody, Pear, Red Moon Road, Cassie & Maggie MacDonald, Trey Anastasio, and many others.  And of course, he is a critical part of the award winning, and world touring, The Fretless Admission $20.  Doors open at 7:15.  Concert starts at 8:00.  Seating is limited– reservations available at trebleinparadise@shaw.ca   Copyright © 2016 Dave Lidstone, All rights reserved. Jaime Fox is a native of Montana who is renowned for her command of Metis fiddle music, a tradition that mixes  Celtic, French, and Native American music cultures. The Hollyburn Druids Unhenged welcome you to a rollicking and harmonious evening of singing. We have button accordions, guitars, concertina, spoons, harmonica and other instruments accompanying some songs that we all know and love. We’re following the Druid tradition which encourages all to sing. Song sheets will be available and requests taken.
