Treble in Paradise Concerts presents A FIDDLE EXTRAVAGANZA with MAIRI RANKIN, TRENT FREEMAN & ERIC WRIGHT on Wednesday November 23, at the Tipper Review Room, 2066 Kingsway (at Victoria Drive)

From the legendary Rankin Family of Mabou NS, Mairi  fiddles, sings and step-dances up a storm. She  tours and records with the Cape Breton super group Beolach and with the internationally acclaimed folk group The Outside Track, and often works as a sideman with other artists.

Trent Freeman is an innovative musician with a unique sense of groove, harmony, and composition. He has won awards as a music video producer, with his groups The Fretless and Speaker Face, and with his solo record Rock Paper Scissors. Trent also plays with John Reischman's The Pine Siskins and always has a new project on the go.  Come out and see what he's up to with this project..

Eric Wright chose to cross boundaries usually faced by cellists.  He found a unique way to fit into Irish and American Old Time music  by  taking “the chop”, an innovative rhythmic technique, to new levels.  In so doing Eric has become a highly sought-after accompanist for all types of folk styles. His recording sessions have included work with Ruth Moody, Pear, Red Moon Road, Cassie & Maggie MacDonald, Trey Anastasio, and many others.  And of course, he is a critical part of the award winning, and world touring, The Fretless Admission $20.  Doors open at 7:15.  Concert starts at 8:00.  Seating is limited– reservations available at trebleinparadise@shaw.ca   Copyright © 2016 Dave Lidstone, All rights reserved. Now THIS is what I'm talking about!  Vancouver needs more of this.  It was like a healthier version of my fave thing when I eat out: a chicken burger with yam fries.  The yam fries were like hand cut with no extra garbage on them and the burger came with a gluten free bun.  AWESOME!  The chicken was delicious!  My boyfriend had a regular burger with cheese and mushrooms and bacon.  It looked so good.  He devoured it and loved it.

The service was very friendly.  (Only he didn't come by the table to ask how the meal was because if he had I would have asked for more mayo for the burger.  [I love mayo to death.  The burger could have used more sauce.]  He came at the end.  It doesn't bother me too much though since he was super nice.)  I liked that they have a sign 'seat yourselves' so we could sit where ever we wanted.  I find it annoying in a restaraunt when it's not busy and then they seat you in some crap spot so it's nice to have freedom of choice.  haha  I liked the decor with some local art and the casual vibe.  It makes me feel like I could come here anytime.

So happy to find a place that offers gluten free food that tastes so good and fresh and isn't a rip-off price served alongside glutenous food, so that it just feels like I'm normal.  We will definately go back!  Can't wait!  I want it now!

A well rounded restaurant. Great neighborhood place.
Always has a local beer on special and the burgers (beef, buffalo, veggie, portobello or chicken) are always satisfying. Have yet to try breakfast but their burgers, sandwiches, and lunch in general are noteworthy. Prices are reasonable as well!

Went for a few drinks before cool place great staff. Its right across from our hotel. I think its the only bar in the neighborhood
