Branding Project Description:

The Tipper Restaurant tucked away near the intersection of Kingsway and Victoria, demonstrates the good things that happen when you put people and product before profit. It has quietly become one of the city’s hidden gems. Owner Colin Shandler says it best: “Simple, unassuming, and humbly fresh,” which describes both the atmosphere and the menu that features hand-picked produce and meats from neighbourhood shops. The community vibe is apparent in the way the staff banter with each other and the guests. I wanted to rebrand The Tipper to accurately reflect the restaurant’s personality and charm, to revitalize the space, and to make it more of a destination hotspot for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The desired end result was to establish a stronger connection with the regulars, and to attract fresh new clientele who appreciate its subtle quirks.
